This Handpan Notation Tool enables you to easily and intuitively create and share musical notations for the handpan instrument. All you need to know in order to work with the editor is to know how to count your rhythm. A more intuitive approach could be to directly tap it on the virtual player which will guide you with a metronome and automatically notate your performance. You can also import MIDI files which will be automatically translated into the notation system.
The notations are presented in a clear and simple visual style with no distractions, using the most universaly agreed upon symbols for percussive sounds plus a system for representing notes with numbers matching the actual layout of any instrument (Ding is 0, 1 is the lowest note of the layout and the rest of the tonefields are counted in ascending manner).
Saved notations can be played back with real handpan sounds. The playback is currently limited to the D Kurd scale, but the notation system itself can acomodate any handpan scale, variant and layout. Besides the set of universaly agreed upon symbols and note numbers which are the default here, you can use actual note names or even your own custom symbols.
You can print/save your notations as pdf for offline usage or sharing, or overlay the running notation on top of your own videos.
There is a built in metronome that will also help you with your practice.
Notations are private by default, viewable only by you, but you can also save your best notations as a public - viewable by everyone. You can easily share notations from your private library with your friends or students via a special sharable link which will give access to view, replay or fork the shared notation only to those who possess the link.
The chord helper tool will help you explore and learn the most important chords that you can play on your instrument. It can work with any handpan scale and layout.
Use this tool for structured practice, for saving your musical ideas even when you are away from your instrument, for sharing compositions and practice excercises with friends and students.
It is completely free, no tracking, no data collection, no ads.
Enjoy and share!
